Since its publication in 2002, the "New Practical Chinese Textbook" has been well-received by teachers and learners alike. In consideration of users' convenience, this revision mainly addresses some of the identified shortcomings in the textbook and makes modifications. Unlike the first edition, in this revision, the explanatory notes are placed immediately after each text, facilitating learners' study. However, the overall framework of the textbook, especially the texts and main language points, has not undergone major changes. The traditional Chinese text is available online (www.blcup.com) for users to download free of charge. The reading materials and images in the comprehensive workbook have been updated.
